Smarter
Tip #1: Listen
Up!
"Pay attention to what the race director says so everyone can have
a safe, fun time."
--contributed by Becky Jefferies (socked in the eye during the Lake
Murray swim by a swimmer on the wrong side of the buoys)
Tip # 2: the Transition
Slide
" Put
baby powder in your bike and running shoes before you start. You will
be able to slide in your shoes better and it will absorb the moisture
from the water left on your feet from the swim."

by Ricky Rikard
Tip # 3: Point
to Point
" Run
point to point instead of following road contours. It saves time."
--contributed
by Troy Harper
Tip # 4:
Speedy Transitions
"I use speed laces on my running shoes.
They save time during the transition and I don't have to worry about them coming
untied during my run."
--contributed by Mark Easterday
Tip #5: Drink your Water!
"At water stations on the run, instead of trying to drink out of the
paper cup like normal, squeeze the cup so you have just a slit to
suck the water out, and you won't spill water all over yourself and
you won't have to slow down."
